Early 1964 VW Beetle (white peanut turn signals, and small license plate light)

I'm the second owner. Losing storage, and other factors force a reluctant sale. 69,926 mi., had 60,000 when i got it in 1996. I rebuilt the motor at 63,000, using only nos german parts. I installed a nos cylinder head stud kit also. Every single rubber including the litlle witch hat moulding clip rubbers, door rubbers window deck lid and hood, etc., heavy running boards have been replaced. 6 volt, all wiring original, headliner is good except for right under window. Floors are all good. I did replace the battery pan. Trans nose cone leaks a little bit. All original chrome. Factory pop outs. Original door panels, and one year only rear seat upholstery. I redid the fronts with tmi kit and "hair" pads. Not a perfect body, has had a minor front, and rear tap somewhere along in its life. Original color was anthracite, and the interior, dash , door jams, etc are all old perfect paint. Original steering wheel looks like restored, but is not. Has original yellow chalk marks US under the front cardboard.

Much more to list - a nice correct car that could use a few cosmetics. I like it just the way it is. I can provide a lot more pics. Have factory birth certificate also. I even found the original radio delete plate in the glove box when i got the car. The proverbial little old couple actually did own the car. Heartbroken to sell.

Asking $4200. Bob Wadon (781-963-2036; rew251@yahoo.com). I have a lot of other VW parts, decklids, glass, 64 and down convert. windshield, and some nos parts. (Also pre-heater hose in pics i added when the original tore -- ha ha.)

Two Cars For Sale

I have a couple of VWs that have been stored at my parents' place off of Route 1A (Washington Street) in Westwood, MA by the Roche Bros. supermarket. They are selling the house, and, because I am working overseas in London, they will not be able to store the cars any longer. My problem now is that arranging storage for them does not make a lot of sense since I don't when I might move back to the States. I'd be interested in selling, trading, or considering any kind of deal that gets the cars out of my parent's hair.

These are the 2 cars:   i) 1985 VW Golf GTI, 2.1L     ii) 196x Baja Bug, 1.6L

The bug was meant to be a project car. I had taken it apart and sanded it it down to bare metal on the inside... and I think pretty close on the outside. Replaced one floor pan. Sprayed the car with an acid etch primer, and it has been sitting drained and covered in a garage. The bug's steering box needed some adjustment, which i did not get to. It ran fine when I started to take it apart for painting, and the engine (oversized for the Baja at 1.6L) was rebuilt by a shop in Portland, Oregon. I think I should have the whole wad of receipts for the components the prior owner had bought for it, including the engine, which had very little mileage on it (unfortunately, the winshield did crack in transport cross-country). Anyway, this was a project car I was hoping to get in good enough form to be able to take it offroading. It still needs to be put back together.

The other car is an '85 GTI. I'll include the description the prior owner had used on it. This car I was using as my day-to-day car, but then I came over to London. Since it was out in California, OR, and WA, it is rust free, and I think very straight. Inside it had relatively new Audi engine. I think the previous owner had installed some after market lights on it that tended to draw down the battery too quickly. I sunk some money into it, putting a new water pump, timing belt, alternator, etc., etc. I was looking to fix up the electrical situation and maybe get rid the after market exhaust system on it. Car does not have power steering. Attached you will see some pictures for both cars. If you or someone you know might want to see them, please let me know as soon as can, and I will arrange for a viewing of both in Westwood as the cars are not registered at the moment.
