NEW DETAILS: Meet behind the Natick Police and Fire Department located in Natick Center off Route 135 at 4:00pm. We will depart at 4:30 sharp. There will not be any stops in Dedham as in years past. Our destination is Cresent Ridge Dairy on Bay Road in Sharon. The ride through the back roads from Natick to Sharon should take about 45 minutes. If you don't want to meet in Natick please join us at Cresent Ridge.

We'll do the same cruise to Cresent Ridge in June, July and August. Dates for the Cruises are as follows.

Sept 6, 2014 - VW Cruz and a Movie at the Mendon Drive-In
VW Cruz and a Movie at the Mendon Drive - in 35 Milford St., Mendon, MA.
Cruzing details: Departing Lowe's in West Bridgewater: 3:30pm and driving Rte. 106 to Rte. 140. 26 miles to Rte. 1a. Departing Wrentham Common at the intersection of Rte. 140 & Rte. 1a (big parking lot): 4:15pm and driving Rte. 140. 25 miles to Mendon. We will arrive at around 5:00pm. Gates open at 6:00pm. It gets crowded on a Saturday night so we need to arrive early. Once the gates open, we can park together and get some dinner while we wait for the shows to start. Sept 6, 2014 - VW of North Attleboro
VW of North Attleboro has invited the members of BSVWOC to their annual open house event to be held at the dealer from 11am-3pm, rain or shine. They will provide a few door prizes and food. This is a show and shine event and should be an enjoyable way to spend your afternoon with fellow VW owners.

May 17, 2014 - 15th Annual Spring Dustoff
Meet behind the Natick police station on route 135 in Natick center by 10:00am. We will leave at 10:30am and drive to the Holiday Inn in Dedham to meet with other VW's. From Dedham we will travel to the VW Gallery in Norwood. We will have a show and shine at the Gallery for the public to view our cars. Lunch will be provided. The inside of the Car showroom will be transformed by adding several vintage VW's to the showroom floor. In addition there will be a collection of Vintage VW advertising brochures and toys. The BSVWOC has been invited on Saturday, October 5 to join the annual Westwood Day events held at the Westwood High School. I would like to have a nice turnout to promote our club and to show off your cars. It's a great local event especially for the kids! There is a registration form that needs to filled out before the day of the show. I can forward the form to you if you are interested. There is no cost to attend this event.

Also in October is the annual VW Day at the MOT in Brookline, this year it's on Sunday, October 13. Not to be missed! This show is open to all VW's air or water cooled, New or Old.

I have the details on two VW beetles for sale a 1957 sedan and a 1961 Convertible. Details on the sedan are on our club web site at The Convertible has been for sale before, it needs work but still a nice early car for the money. $6,500

Message from Bill Cannon: We will be joining our friends The Bug Club at the VolksVair. If you have never been it is a wonderful show with lots to see. Many classes of cars and lots of trophies. There is a food vendor for lunch and Ice Cream at Heberts. Make sure you bring plenty of water sunscreen and a chair.

If anyone would like to cruz up to the show from the south, I will be leaving form Lowe's in West Bridgewater at 7:45am and driving up Rt 140. (why so early??) This route does cross the Pan Mass Challenge and we need to get by the riders early. Last year we were stuck for 45min waiting for a break in the line. This is the nicest route thought some great towns. At about 8:20am we will be going through Franklin Center if you want to slip in at that point.

BSVWOCDate: June 15, 2013        Destination: Wollaston Beach, Quincy

The Bay State VW Owners Club Spring Dust off scheduled for Sat, May 25, 2013 has been rescheduled to Sat, June 15, 2013 due to weather. Rain date Sunday June 16, 2013. All scheduled times and meeting locations will remain the same.

Stopping Point: Trailside Museum, Milton

Cruz Description: We will have 3 meeting places this year, similar to last year.

Location #1) Lowes in West Bridgewater, Rte. 106. We will be leaving from Lowes at 8:45am. This group will be driving the beautiful Bay Street to Location #3 in Dedham.

Location #2) Stan's Classic Service, 135 W. Central St., Natick. Plan on leaving there at 9:00am for Location #3 in Dedham. Arrive early to check out Stan's Repair shop and his collection of cars.

Location #3) This is the usual lot on the corner of Elm St. (Rte.1a) and Washington Street in Dedham. It is right off Rte. 128. We will be leaving this lot at 10:00am or so, after some coffee and donuts.

From Dedham we will be driving to the Trailside Museum for a self guided tour of the animal sanctuary. Admission is $3 per adult.

From the Trailside Museum we will be traveling through the Scenic Blue Hills to Furnace Brook Parkway. This is a beautiful winding road that leads us to the Beach. We will be traveling along Wollaston Beach on Quincy Shore Drive to The Clam Box and The Beach Comber Restaurants. There is ample parking along the beach, across the street from the restaurants. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating or you can get food to go and sit on the seawall and enjoy the view. Bring you bathing suit, Kite, Frisbee, camera, surfboard, beach blanket, binoculars', etc.

Blue Rocks Campground; Lenhartsville, PA . $32 a night. We have group site 116 booked (sorry, no water/elec hookups on the group site). This is our favorite site, just past the boulder field. Bring contributions for the beer and wine tasting event on Saturday afternoon and contribution for potluck on Saturday eve. Hayride to local farm for pumpkins. Lots to do at campground and surrounding area such as Cabelas, Deitrich famous PA Dutch meat market and you can hike part of the Appalachian Trail right from campground. This year there will be no VW-only class. This will allow you to compete with other makes and model cars in your class year instead of a VW-only Class. It will be your choice when you enter the show where you want to park. For example if you own a 1958 VW you could enter in the "stock 1958-1960 class or in the foreign car class. Volkswagen has decided to become a major sponsor of the Cambridge Arts Festival. This festival can draw as many as 200,000 people on a single day. Volkswagen has contacted local clubs asking members if they would be interested in displaying there cars along with new Volkswagens at the festival. The BSVWOC has demonstrated their commitment to preserving Vintage Volkswagens and this has been noted by Volkswagen. All VW car show and swap meet to be held on the grounds of the Harwinton Fairgrounds, Harwinton, Connecticut. The show is open to all VW vehicles, both aircooled and watercooled as we have 40 classes open for VWs. Over 100 awards given out. Music provided by the VW dj Jim D.. A large swap meet with indoor and outdoor spaces available for vendors. Food available all day and also clean modern restrooms with attendants. Admission to the show is $7 for adults. Car entries are $6. Car and driver is $13. Vendors $30 for a 20 x 20 space includes driver and one helper. Bug In Bash the night before (Saturday at 6) with free food provided by Texas Grill.
